A recent UCLA on women’s friendships reflects similar findings to my own on early childhood educators’ perceptions of spiritual development of young children.
The quality of relationships is so fundamental to our spiritual needs. The UCLA study actually acknowledges that “friendship makes our lives manageable, fulfilling, and spiritually and emotionally healthy, which means we are better able to cope with the stresses and challenges society hands to us daily. Our children, grandchildren and students, the kids in our world neighborhood, need us to function well in order to provide them with even their basic needs.”
Here’s a link to one of my peer’s thoughts on the UCLA study: http://picturepoet-irene.blogspot.com/2014/03/friendship.html
I wonder what others think about this?
